The kitchen

Cooked over fire, led by the season

There is no gas line in our kitchen. Everything passes through the hearth: bread baked in the falling heat, vegetables charred on the grate, and meat and fish rested slowly beside the coals.

Good to know

Before you visit

Can you cook for dietary needs?

Yes. Most of the menu can be made vegetarian, and we can work around allergies with notice. Add details to your booking enquiry so the kitchen can plan ahead.

Do you accept walk-ins?

The ember bar is kept for walk-in guests every evening we're open. Seats go on a first-come basis, so earlier in the evening is your best chance.

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome at earlier sittings, and the kitchen is happy to make simple, smaller plates on request.

How does the tasting menu work?

The kitchen sends a run of small plates chosen from the week's best produce. The whole table takes part, and it takes around two and a half hours.

Can I arrange a gift or a private supper?

Use the enquiry form and choose the long table, or mention a gift in the notes. We'll reply by email with the options.
